We are so sorry to hear of John's passing. We knew him through the Airport Control Tower Restoration Group where he was a huge asset and the main person pushing for progress. Such a nice man and a pleasure to know. Our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved John. He will be greatly missed....

It was with much sadness to connect with you all this afternoon. The friendship with John and Ellen had flourished with our family connection. You both will be remembered for your love and friendship.

John was for many years the Dunedin City Council's Technical Services Engineer. He was an exceptional office manager who ensured his staff were given every opportunity to excel. As a Council Engineer he served the ratepayer's to the best of his ability. He will be missed by many friends and colleagues in Dunedin.

John will be missed by many. He was a great contributor to the community through Rotary and his love of cricket. His work for the Dunedin survives as part of his legacy, as does his influence on the people he helped. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
