Born in Wanganui 11 January 1926
Quietly slipped away Monday 2 February 2026 aged 100 years.
Much loved wife of her dearest Jim d. 1989
Greatest cheer leader for Reg, and Rachael.
Loved Mother-in-law of Shona, and David.
Proud Grandmother of James, Craig, Kelda, and Dave.
Great Grandmother of Alia, Cooper, Greer; John, Isla, Archer; Sophie, and Connor.
She was fiercely independent, determined, and resourceful.
She met life’s challenges full on and was an inspiration to those who knew and loved her.
She had a great store of knowledge and wisdom we all benefitted from.
Thanks to the caring staff at New Vista.
Reunited with Jim, faithful to the end.
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.
A farewell service for Eris will be held at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Glasgow Street, Whanganui at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday 7 February 2026 to be followed by interment in the Aramoho Lawn Cemetery.

Aunty Eris you were an amazing, strong and vibrant lady who made a huge impact on my childhood...so many memories of visiting your house with your beloved friends, my Gran and Gramps, Ken and Mary Tonkin. Thankyou for being you. Love and light to you always. I will never forget you.
