Died peacefully on Monday 16 February 2026, surrounded by family, aged 84 years.
Loved Husband of Diana for 58 years.
Proud Dad of Tim, David, James, Garrick, Bevan and Belinda, somewhat quirky father-in-law of Lucy, Naomi, Jeanette, Nardz, Rebekah and Josh.
Loving Grandad to Henry, Seamus, Grace, Malachi, Meg, Heidi, Rosie, Jethro, Phoebe, Zoe, Jake, Emilia, Jed, Xanthe, and Freya.
Friends are invited to a celebration of John’s life to be held in the Forrest Lawn Chapel, 208 Guyton Street, Whanganui at 10.00am on Saturday 21 February 2026.
John’s Service will be webcast and can be viewed at www.dempseyandforrest.co.nz ‘Watch Services Online’.

Please accept my sympathies on the loss of John. He will be missed by you all. Unfortunately I am unable to attend his funeral and trust he has a great send off. Remember the good times you had with John God Bless you all
